La Pieve di San Martino

The Pieve di San Martino has always been a place of rest and gathering along the long and challenging journey of pilgrims; this characteristic has been preserved to this day. The Tuscan countryside provides the backdrop: green and lush in spring, full of sun and golden in summer.

The four apartments, created in the outbuilding of the Pieve, are independent, finely restored, carefully furnished, and set against the beautiful Romanesque church dating back to the 1200s. The ancient chapel is still today a place of meeting; the owners usually welcome guests here, but it can also be used for business meetings. Peace, tranquility, and a touch of mysticism are the defining features of this place.

From the Pieve di San Martino, the most beautiful towns and art cities of Tuscany are easily accessible. Florence is 60 km away, with all its monuments and works of art. Siena, the city of the Palio, is 20 km away, with its one-of-a-kind Piazza “Il Campo.” San Gimignano, the “city of 100 towers,” is only 15 km away. Not to be missed is an excursion through the Chianti hills, rich with vineyards, castles, and wineries where you can taste excellent Chianti Classico DOCG wine.

The Pieve di San Martino is located in the countryside of the municipality of Colle di Val d’Elsa, internationally renowned for its crystal production, about 4 km away. The entire property is framed by a beautifully kept garden with a swimming pool (14m x 7m). For sports lovers, just below the pool there is a sports field often used by guests for games and fun together. Barbecues are also available for guests to enjoy delicious outdoor grills.
