With this trekking experience, our guide Erica will take you to discover the countryside where she grew up and where her family still lives today. Along the way, we will admire panoramic views of the towers, walk along a stretch of the ancient Via Francigena—which since the 10th century fostered cultural and commercial exchanges, making San Gimignano one of the most important destinations of the Middle Ages—and visit the beautiful Romanesque parish church of Cellole, one of the oldest in this area.

At the end of the hike, we will visit her family’s home, a house-workshop where her father, a sculptor, and her mother, a pianist, devote themselves to their art. Surrounded by tools of the trade, musical instruments, brushes, and paints, we will meet them and listen to how their bond with the place where they live has influenced them. Most importantly, they will give us a live demonstration of their art.
