ABOUT:
My name is Gaia, and I was born and raised among the hills of Chianti. Massage has been a form of care that I have loved since I was a child. My university studies allowed me to develop a more critical perspective on the world of health and well-being, providing me with the scientific foundation to support a holistic view of the body and mind. I have found in massage the balance between these two elements. My hands are the tool to put everything I have learned into practice.
SERVICES:
I offer a massage service based on the following points:
CULTURE OF DIVERSITY: I will do my best to make you feel welcome. All bodies are valid and have the right to self-determination. Marginalized people in society (neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, disabled, fat, racialized, etc.) will find a welcoming space. Please communicate with me what you need to find mutually sustainable compromises.
CULTURE OF CONSENT: I want you to feel safe. If you prefer to stop or change the massage, you can tell me at any time. ATTENTION: Just like you, I have the right to stop if I feel uncomfortable with inappropriate behavior. My practice does not include genital massage. I do not tolerate offensive verbal or non-verbal actions: harassment, abuse, discrimination of any kind, or sexual jokes.
NEURODIVERGENT CULTURE: You don't have to justify yourself; you don't need to share your diagnosis. You can always explain what you want through your preferred communication channel (spoken, written, symbols, images, video, AAC, etc.). Examples: some people feel discomfort/pain with light touch, while they enjoy firm and stable pressure on the body; others associate parts of their body with traumatic memories; some feel nervous or exhausted by music, the sensations of massage oil, or scents; they need anticipation and details, a predictable experience. I want to avoid causing overload for you, so I never engage in small talk.
TYPES OF MASSAGE:
We can create a personalized treatment, combining different techniques. You choose the pressure of my hands, the type of massage oil, and the aromatherapy. Below are some traditional examples:
SPORTS DECONTRACTING: Quick strokes to warm up the muscle + Frictions + Kneading + Acupressure + Deep vibrations + Compression + Percussion. This is an intense and liberating treatment. Some techniques are performed without oil. It may require a minimal tolerance to pain. Not recommended before exercise.
RELAXING: Slow, relaxing strokes + Kneading + Acupressure + Vibrations. A very intimate, gentle, and intense massage that promotes self-awareness. Not recommended for people with depressive or anxiety disorders.
AYURVEDIC: Slow, relaxing strokes + Quick strokes to warm up muscles and joints + Slow and fast kneading + Acupressure + Frictions + Vibrations + Percussion + Stretching. A balancing treatment with warm oil; leaves a sense of completeness, lightness, and unity. Intense and dynamic with moments of deep relaxation, intimacy, and lightness.
NEURODIVERGENT-FRIENDLY: Choose your preferred techniques. Decide if you want or don’t want oil, essential oils, music, broadband noise (White noise, Pink noise, Brown noise), the type of pressure, the consistency of movements, etc. Suggested techniques: Strong, stable pressure + Squeezing + Quick strokes + Percussion. You don’t need to justify your choices to me and can always tell/write/show me what might make you feel better to avoid overload situations.
