With this trek our guide Erica will take you to learn about the countryside where she grew up and where her family still resides. Along the way we will admire panoramic views of the towers, we will walk on a stretch of the ancient Via Francigena that from the 10th century onward allowed trade and cultural exchanges making San Gimignano one of the most important destinations of the Middle Ages, and we will visit the beautiful Romanesque parish church of Cellole, one of the oldest churches in this area. At the end of the excursion we will visit her family's home, a house/workshop where the father, a sculptor, and the mother, a pianist devote themselves to their art. Among tools of the trade, musical instruments, brushes and paints we will get to know them and they will talk to us about how their relationship with the place they live has influenced them but most importantly they will give us a demonstration of their art.
